Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This wireless robot that is bagless has an all-black utilitarian design. Its price is in line with other high-end smart home robotic vacuums.

You can control it using the physical Clean and Dock buttons at the top, via the SharkClean app, or by using voice commands using Alexa and Google Assistant. It is equipped with a variety of smart features like home mapping and virtual "no-go zones".

Matrix Clean

SharkClean is an app that you can download on your smartphone to map your rooms. The app lets you make a schedule to keep your home spotless or you can select certain rooms to have Matrix begin cleaning automatically. You can also set 'no go zones such as beds or closets that you don't want it to get into.

The app also allows you to use the "spot" cleaning on demand feature where you can select a dirty spot on your floor map and the robot will automatically move over that area with multiple swipes of its cleaning pad. It does a great job of picking up everything from dog hair tangles to tiny bits of paper cut up from a recent project.

The Matrix will return to its dock when it has finished cleaning and empty itself in the bin included. This is an interesting feature since it reduces the amount of hand-on maintenance you need to do.

One thing to be aware of about this particular robot is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is situated on top of the structure which could prevent it from slipping under some of the lower furniture such as tables and sofas. However, if you don't mind being a bit taller than some other robots it's still an excellent choice. Be aware that this model isn't equipped with a HEPA air filter, as do some other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precise grid that leaves no space unnoticed and its incredible suction pulls dirt dust and debris into a self-emptying 60-day capacity bagless robotic sweepers base. Precision home mapping combines 360deg of LiDAR vision with a precise home map in the SharkClean application to allow completely autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. It creates a detailed map of your living space, whether either at night or during the day, allowing full navigation without bumping furniture and other obstructions. This means that your robot will be left to finish a cleaning schedule or you can initiate Matrix clean on demand and set room-specific goals anywhere through the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a top mid-range robot cleaner that can tick all the boxes. It's simple to use, produces accurate home maps and comes with an empty bag that self-empties. It's also cheaper to run than many other robot vacuums.

It is a plethora of power. It makes use of its side brushes to push carpet fibers and hair into the brushroll. This helps prevent the accumulation and blockage of the brushroll as seen on other robotic vacuums and makes this model more effective in picking up pet hair.

The robot is equipped with an impressive suction system that self-empties the base and high-efficiency HEPA filtration system that captures 99 percent of allergens and dust mites. It also has two power modes to suit different types of floors and a remote that lets users to access all of its functions. Additionally, it is compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which allows you to initiate a cleaning job without having to touch the robot.

It's a good option for most homes but its navigation abilities may be a problem for certain. In contrast to other bump bots that can avoid stairs, this one had difficulty with stairs. It relied on LiDAR sensors and infrared to map my house, but kept mistaking the cat condo as stairs and asked me to move it. It also had a shorter runtime than advertised, with only 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

Some robots - like this one - have self-emptying bases which vacuum or dump the debris that is in the onboard dust bin into an external dirt container to make maintenance easier. They are referred to as the Clean Base Dirt Disposal by iRobot, Auto Empty Station by Ecovacs or Bagless Self Emptying Base by Shark RV2300S Matrix Robot Vacuum - Pet-Friendly. They're a wonderful convenience, however they can be noisy and messy, and they typically require special disposal bags.

This Shark model comes with an HEPA filtered bagless base. It has a large capacity. It can store debris for up to 60 days and doesn't need to be emptied daily like other models. There's also a hefty dose of incredible Shark suction that can tackle the most difficult mess. The docking station's vacuum to empty the dust bin is quite loud.

When the robot is connected and charging, it will emit a beep and a green light at its top will pulse to indicate that it's prepared to begin cleaning. When the battery of the robot is depleted it will dock to its base until it is recharged. It is important that the dock, or Self-Empty Base, is positioned so it is not hindered by furniture or other items and is free of any obstructions.

The model is a bit more expensive than other models in the middle of the range we've tried. However, it is more sturdy and performs better on flat floors. It also has longer battery life and less maintenance requirements. It also comes with more extensive range of capabilities for automation, like virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however, is still our recommended choice because it feels more durable and more sophisticated, charges faster and gets caught on rug tassels much less frequently and has a larger maximum battery capacity.

Easy Setup

The Shark Rv754Ca Ion Robot Vacuum - Wi-Fi Connected AI Ultra has a simple to use Schedule that requires a few inputs. You can select the date and the time of sunset and sunrise as well as the duration of the ramp time (increasing or reducing the brightness), and whether you wish to turn on the lights at nighttime.

It does not include the smart mapping feature or voice control like Alexa or Google Assistant, but it has a useful free programming suite. This suite has various Windows-based tools that allow for operating parameter and communication settings as well as dmXLAN switch and node configuration, real-time testing and rapid replication of the configuration to multiple installations.
