The Braava Jet is one of our most affordable robot mops and one of the most feature-packed. It's designed to work with a machine-washable Effortless cleaning - iRobot Roomba 694 WiFi Vacuum pads (two for $20) or single-use Bona Revolutionize Cleaning with iRobot Roomba j7+ Solutions. It needs only water to run, and it is pumped through a removable reservoir at the back. The bot will only mop when the pad is connected and the tank is filled; if you send it out to clean but not either of those the two, it will simply vacuum instead.

The setup process is fairly simple. Attach a cleaning pad, and push until you hear the click. The bot will detect the type pad and select the appropriate mode. If you're using a damp sweep pad the robot will move in a sweeping motion; if you're using mopping pads that are wet it will make use of more deliberate, back and forth scrub motion.

The robot did a fantastic job of picking up dirt, dust and other debris from the floors that are tiled in a small apartment. It didn't get everything, but it did a great job of picking up most of the large, sticky debris. It also did a good job of taking out water spills, although it was unable to remove some more stubborn ones.

Its performance in navigating between rooms is a bit less impressive. It's able to do a decent job of finding its way around the room, but it doesn't map your home in the similar way other robots do. The navigation is also a bit clumsy and we noticed it frequently bump into objects such as our foot and the cat.

The iRobot Braava Jet 240 is an excellent choice for busy families who would like to keep their home looking great without spending much time working on it. It's not as versatile as some of our top picks, however it does a good job in keeping kitchens and bathrooms looking their best.

iRobot Braava Jet m6

The iRobot Braava Jet m6 mopping robot is one of the most advanced robotic floor cleaners available on the market. It can sweep, vacuum and mop floors on hard surfaces such as wood, laminate, tile and carpets. Its long battery life enables it to clean up to 1,000 square feet in one cleaning session. This makes it ideal for homes with larger areas. It's also able to navigate through furniture and other obstacles, because of its iAdapt Navigation system.

Contrary to Roomba robots, the Braava Jet m6 does not have a separate water tank, which makes it a bit more prone to spills and other messes.
