Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

irobot-roomba-combo-i5-self-emptying-robIf you want a basic robot vacuum without the smart features of other models, this is a great choice. It does a great job of removing pet hair, cat litter and Cheerios on hardwood floors. It even sucked up sand in my tests.

It maps rooms quickly and provides solid obstacle avoidance. It can also be manually controlled via the included remote.

1. Roomba from iRobot

The s9+ robotic vacuum is one of the best we've ever tested to clean hard floors and carpets. It has the strongest suction power of any robotic vacuum cleaner on the market. It also does an excellent job of removing pet hair. It can be programmed to do multiple passes or adjust suction levels depending on the size of the room, which is a feature which we haven't encountered in other models. The app lets you alter the way it operates and choose when it starts working, so you can stay in the room as it's whirring away.

The smart mapping feature creates a detailed map of your home to help the s9+ navigate and create efficient routes. It's also self-emptying, meaning it does not require any intervention from you during the cleaning process, and it's able to return to its home base and recharge during the cleaning (though it's possible to hear it rumble back to its dock once it gets settled the sound, which sounds like jet engine takeoff). In our tests the s9+ blasted over obstacles such as tables and power cables easily and never lost its charge or became stuck. It doesn't have the hazard avoidance capabilities of the latest models and could become entangled in rug tassels and other obstructions that it's unable to see.

The s9+ features flat fronts, unlike most circular robots. It also has a squared-off front which makes it easier to reach corners than models with round fronts. It's also quieter than the previous iRobot model we tested and is more compact than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not cheap, but it's an excellent value for the price given how well it performs and the fact that you don't need to worry about emptying an unclean bin afterward. It's also often on sale at Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ robot vacuum is one of the most intelligent vacuum cleaners available on the market. It's equipped with iRobot Genius technology that gives it the ability to sense obstacles and move around them, which means that you don't have to worry about it hitting into furniture or walls. It slows down when it approaches an item to gently clean the edges. This is particularly useful for pet owners with small animals that leave a mess behind.

Another amazing aspect of the J7+ is that it can mop and vacuum with the help of a special mopsitter. When it detects that you are in a place that needs to be mopped it shifts to its standard cleaning mode and deploys an arm that has an edging. It mopped the floor using a gentle touch, leaving my floors feeling and looking like they'd been meticulously cleaned.

The j7+ recharges itself when it is finished mopping. It then drives back to the point where it left off and continues cleaning. It usually runs for around 85 minutes, if not more in my house, before having to return to the dock to recharge. It's not as long as the s9+, however it's still impressive for a robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+, like other iRobot vacuum cleaners, evades obstacles and recognizes them. It also comes with what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which prevents it from falling down the stairs. It's a great safety feature for families with children.

The j7+ has an extremely small onboard bin which means that it will have to return to the dock and empty it often if you have an enormous home. The J7+ can be stored easily. The Clean Base, which comes with it, acts as a charging dock, a separate dustbin and an internal bin for the j7+ to put dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This robot vacuums carpets and hard surfaces simultaneously. Matrix Clean Navigation is also included, which uses grids to cover the entire home. The vacuum automatically empties after every run. You can also see the status of the battery and the actual life of the vacuum by looking at the two lights on the top. To empty the dirt receptacle simply press a button which unlatches the bin. It can accommodate up to a full week's worth trash and is easy to empty from any area of the home.

The model is stunning on floors that are clean, but it struggles on floors with low pile. It also has a difficult time to hold large amounts of debris when the dirt compartment fills. It is nevertheless well built and has a long battery life, which you can extend by using the eco-friendly 'Eco' mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible both with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can operate it by speaking. The app lets you identify your robot (mine is Sharky Shark), remotely start and schedule its runs and view your cleaning history as well as any errors that are notified. You can also create a map of your home and set up zones that are not accessible to the public.

The Shark iQ costs more than the iRobot Roomba j7+ but it has superior app features and mapping and also superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges faster and is stuck on rug tassels fewer frequently, which decreases the cost of recurring repairs. This model isn't able to stay away from furniture or pet bowls. You need to use physical boundaries strips to keep the model away from these items.

4. irobot models Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 is an elegant and stylish design that will complement your interior decor. It's a fantastic robot for those looking for a device they can install and forget about. It will learn your habits of cleaning and then create a customized schedule. It also integrates with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants, so you can start cleaning your home by just speaking. It makes use of a wide range of sensors to help you navigate the obstacles that surround your home. A smart bumper softens the impact of bumping into furniture legs or walls, and four "cliff" sensors on the sides and front inform it when it's close to a dropoff such as the stairs or balcony, and can back away from the edge.

This model is a great value in the sub-$300 category of robot vacuums. It comes with a three-stage cleaning system and dual multi-surface brushes to help get rid of dirt from carpets and hard floors, while an edge-sweeping brush is used to clean corners and edges. This robot vacuum also has numerous features for convenience, including Dirt Detect, which automatically is more active in heavily soiled areas. It can also be set manually to clean at specific times, and has an app that allows remote control.

The Roomba model from irobot combo isn't as advanced but it is not as advanced as the i7. It does not include a mapping feature, nor the ability to create virtual boundaries. However, it feels sturdier and has lower recurring costs than the less expensive RoboVac G30, has a much larger dustbin, charges faster, maneuvers over obstructions such as electrical cords better and performs better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet as compared to the iRobot Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s is a small and attractive robot vacuum that gives an excellent value for the money. It sucks pet hair well, has a large dirt compartment and can run for a long duration on a single charge. However, it's difficult to maintain and has some issues with navigation. It's not equipped with an app companion to it and Robotvacuummops.Com voice control, however it does have a user-friendly remote. It doesn't let you know when the bin is full. You'll have to check it frequently.

The eufy has many advantages over the bObsweep Bob Pro however, in some areas it is not as efficient as the iRobot Roomba 694. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better built, has fewer parts to keep in good condition, a HEPA filter and lasts longer on one charge, and provides better cleaning capabilities for floors with no floor as well as high-pile and low-pile. It also features a better navigation system that can navigate around obstacles, and has more advanced automation features such as boundary stripes.

Although the eufy remains a decent choice I would suggest the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for most users. The iRobot is better-built, easier to maintain, has a larger dustbin, and has better performance on all surfaces types. It's also more efficient in recharge and provides longer battery life.

The eufy can be an excellent alternative to the ILIFE A4s. However, it's not as efficient as a top-end robot such as the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better, has a more robust design, a larger dustbin and has fewer ongoing costs. It also has a more sophisticated navigation algorithm that can navigate around obstacles and more advanced automation capabilities, including boundary strips. The iRobot can also take care of pet hair more efficiently and it's much easier to maintain than the eufy.
