The Matrix will return to its dock when it has finished cleaning and empty itself in the bin that is included. This is a great feature because it reduces your requirement to do maintenance.

This robot's LIDAR mapping sensor is located right on top. This can make it difficult to climb under furniture that is low like tables and sofas. If you're not worried about being a little taller than some other robots, this is still a very good choice. Be aware that this model doesn't come with a HEPA filter like the other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precise grid that leaves no area unexplored and a powerful suction draws dirt dust and debris into a self-emptying 60 day capacity bagless base. Precision home mapping combines 360deg LiDAR vision with an exact home map that is available in the SharkClean application to allow completely autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. It creates a detailed map of your home, at night or day, to allow full movement without causing damage to furniture or other obstructions. The RV2502AE is a reliable mid-range robot vacuum that ticks all the boxes. It is easy to use, produces precise home maps, and features a an emptying bag that self-empties. It's also cheaper to run than many other robot vacuum with bagless self empty vacuums.

It's also got plenty of power, sweeping up debris using its suction opening, and relying on its side brushes to push carpet and hair threads into the path of the brushroll. This prevents the brushroll from clogging up and becoming a mess, like other robotic vacuums. It also makes the machine more effective in removing pet hair.

This robot features powerful suction, a self-emptying base and high-efficiency HEPA filtering system that can capture 99% allergens and dust mites. It also comes with two power modes that can be used to suit different types of floors and a remote that allows users to access all its functions. It's also compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which allows you to initiate cleaning tasks without having to touch the robot.

It's a great choice for most homes but its navigation abilities may be a problem for some. The bump bot had issues with stairs. Other bump bots can avoid them but this one could not. It utilized Infrared sensors and LiDAR to map the house however it was constantly mistakenly assuming my cat's house for stairs and asked me to move it away from the way. It also had a shorter runtime than the advertised time of 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

Some robots - like this one - come with self-emptying bases that can vacuum or dump the debris that is in the dust bin on board into an external dirt compartment for easier maintenance.
