The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet-dry model is equipped with Ecovacs' upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet across by the 270-degree angle. This results in more precise mapping as well as faster response time and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard spots than conventional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad and begin work, and I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms by the corners and edges and also create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the center of the room. I was able dive into the settings and modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, which included creating restricted areas to sweep and mop and reworking my furniture layouts, and much more. The X2 Omni did a great job in my tests, achieving excellent scores in debris removal and pet hair cleaning and near-perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line, and features the brand's new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing technology that can respond to a range of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between vacuuming and mopping in a single operation. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off depending on your requirements. This is fine for most households, but not for those who lead busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It also did a fantastic job with tile and carpet, removing over 99% of dirt and debris.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can't meet its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular design, sweeping wheels and a raised space for sensors. Flip it over, however you'll see a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's'mouth'. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to get under sofas and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. However it tends to bump into things (including its charging dock) and isn't the best in negotiating rugs. It was great at getting pet hair off of carpets. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has physical buttons on its base. These buttons let you select a cleaning mode or turn the robot off/on. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck on power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and was able to take everything from one grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. It did have some issues with rugs, but generally speaking the vacuum cleaner is great for large rooms that have different flooring types as well as a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive however it's a great buy for people who want to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and it comes with batteries that power the ElectroWall which allows you to place boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to access.

This budget-friendly choice from a well-known brand is the cheapest model we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the cost. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to get under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature worked very well in our testing and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as sturdy as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as floors that are not covered. It also uses intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It can be positioned to a specific location, and comes with a range of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It can even to pause and resume a cleaning session and is perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris and its bagless self-emptying dock station can hold up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be emptied. It also comes with an array of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander, and allergens for cleaner air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It works with a smartphone application which lets you alter the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The iQ does a good job of removing bare flooring and doing a good job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It's also expensive and its ongoing costs can become expensive over time.
