He argues that his low performance review in June 2000 and the inability to grant him certain project assignments were motivated by national origin or racism animus. However there is no evidence to suggest that Medtronic's decision-making was based on those factors. Moreover, Elayaperumal's lower performance review didn't result in any reduction in his salary or benefits, nor did it affect his responsibilities.
