Nespresso Coffee Machines

What is a Nespresso Machine?

As the Spruce says, it could make up as much as 25 percent of an espresso's flavor. The Original line is more expensive and comes with Creatista or Lattissima espresso machines that have built-in milk frothers to create lattes and cappuccinos at the touch of one button.

The Lattissima Line

This line of machines is perfect for those who like milky coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, and want one machine that can handle it all. It has three customizable one-touch recipes, and its 4.2-ounce milk container is removable and dishwasher-safe. It's also light, which makes it easy to transport and store in a small space. However, some users say it's not as intuitive to use as other Nespresso models.

The jug's lines for drinks are etched into it, so you can decide beforehand which drink you'd like to make as the machine heats up. It has a sensor which stops steaming at the moment it is unable to make milk.

The Lattissima One offers a great value for money. It's available in four different colors: porcelain white, dark gray, and silky-white. It's easy to clean and features a a minimalist aesthetic that won't take up too much space in small spaces. The machine is also moderately priced, with a suggested retail price of $385/PS279

It comes with an automatic drip tray similar to the OriginalLine models. The tray is designed to catch any loose ground as you pour espresso. This feature is fantastic for minimizing mess and preventing overflow, which can ruin the taste of your espresso.

The Pro and Gran Lattissima both have a larger water tank than the Lattissima One, allowing them to hold more liquid before needing to refill. These two models have a quicker heat-up time (15 seconds for an Espresso and 25 seconds for a Lungo) and a hot water function that can be used to make iced coffee or tea.

The only issue with the Lattissima is the difficulty of changing the consistency and thickness of your milk foam. The machine is only compatible with skim or almond milk. Sorry vegans and those who are allergic to dairy. The wand that froths can be tricky to clean, which is a common complaint among Nespresso owners. Fortunately the Lattissima Pro and Gran Lattissima have a self-cleaning cycle that cleans the milky insides after every use of the frother.

The Vertuo Line

A Nespresso Vertuo machine makes a small cup of coffee that is ideal for those who enjoy espresso but prefer a quick, intense drink. The machine reads the barcode that is located on the outer rim of each capsule in order to determine how much coffee it can make. Nespresso's Vertuo pods are extracted with an exclusive technology.

The Vertuo Line offers a wide selection of different drinks including Ristretto (mini espresso), Espresso, Lungo, Americano and Cappuccino. The machines can also be used with the Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother to make frothy lattes and cappuccinos.

Each Vertuo Line machine heats up quickly and can be brewed in just 30 seconds. They have smaller water tanks than the Original Line machines and require less maintenance. There are many models available that you can choose one that fits your style and budget.

Contrary to the Original Line machines, which only make Nespresso capsules however, the Vertuo Line also brews regular, filter-brewed coffee. This is done through an additional spout that is that is located at the bottom of the machine.
