A 2 in 1 Stroller With Car Seat Is a Convenient Choice

A stroller that can be converted into a car seat and vice versa is very practical. It saves time and energy. But, with so many different options available it can be a challenge to determine which one is suitable for your family.

Read reviews and look at features to find the ideal car seat stroller combo for you. Enjoy quality time with your child, and simplify your travels.

Easy to Assemble

The most effective stroller and car seat combinations are simple to join, attach to the vehicle, and detach from the stroller. Moriarty suggests that a good guideline to follow is to have everything ready within five minutes or less. A simple, intuitive process can help you avoid mistakes that could put your child at risk.

Graco City Select 2 Car Seat and Stroller Travel Systems came out on top in our tests regarding ease of assembly. The entire process took less than 30 seconds. We connected the infant car seat and toddler seats, that were then affixed to the base with just one click. Then, we connected the upper adapter and lower adapter to create space for an additional seat (sold separately) or bassinet. This created an all-in-one stroller that can expand with your family members, offering more than 22 seating options with the included seat and up to 45 lbs in each seat.

UPPAbaby's Vista v2 Combo impressed us as well with its all-wheel suspension that is springy that can withstand even the most rough roads. The combo is costly, but it comes with an automobile, bassinet and a weather shield to keep your child comfortable.

We also noted how it was easy for us to maneuver the stroller. The City Mini GT Combo from Baby Jogger has one front wheel which is ideal for turning around corners or going through narrow aisles, whereas the Thule Urban Glide 2 in 1 pram and pushchair and BOB Alterrain Pro have swivel wheels to handle tight turns. We found these choices to be a breeze to push--even with a car seat on top--and we found it pleasing the fact that the frame folds easily and compactly.

The Doon was the most straightforward to use. Its small size and single-hand fold (which one editor described as "amazing that you can do this with a baby on the hip!") make it an ideal space-saving device. The car seat can be separated from its base with one click and release. The only drawback is that it requires straps for the car seat to be secured. Parents may forget to use the straps, but it's an inconvenience.

Easy to Fold

A 2 in 1 car seat stroller combo can be an essential tool in streamlining your daily routine. If you often use public transportation or ride-share vehicles, it's especially helpful to be able move your child from stroller to car without hassle. Moriarty recommends looking for a stroller that can be removed from the base, and then attached and removed from the frame of the stroller in a single-handed motion. The Doona Combo car seat and stroller combination is a good example of a system that meets these requirements.

The unique design of this stroller makes it easy to convert from a newborn carrier to the toddler seat, letting you switch off the car seat to meet your growing child's needs. It's also designed to be extremely compact and folds up flat making it an ideal option for those who travel. It maneuvered well during our tests and the suspension is superb. We like the fact that it is able to be towed off with the seat attached, and that the handlebar is adjustable.

The Doona isn't suitable for infants younger than 4 months as it can be detached by one hand only and attached to the stroller. It also doesn't fold with the infant carrier on which could be a challenge in tight spaces. Nuna Pipa, which does not require an additional base and is a better option for babies. It also has a strong LATCH attachment built into the car seat.

It's a bit more expensive than the Doona however it has additional features that make it worth the cost. The Pipa is light and folds flat to be carried easily. It's also a little more roomy than the Doona and can carry a medium-sized backpack. Its canopy is impressive, with several options for adjusting the coverage as well as offering shade. It's a great option for international travel as it can be hung in the car without a base and is certified to fly. The only downside is it won't fit in the overhead bins of many aircrafts.
