The bagless, wifi-connected robot is a utilitarian, all-black design. Its price is in line with other top-of-the-line smart home robotic vacuums.

You can control the device using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on top as well as the SharkClean App, or with voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features, including home mapping and virtual no-go zones.

It's simple to connect the Matrix to your wireless network and start mapping out your rooms with the SharkClean app for your smartphone. After mapping, the app lets you set up a schedule for your robot to keep your home spotless or select rooms to have Matrix start an automatic cleaning session. You can also set up zones that are 'no-go, such as closets or beds that you do not want Matrix to enter.

The app allows you to use the "spot cleaning" function at any time. You can choose a dirty area on your floor map and the robot will clean the area on its own with many swipes of its cleaning pad. It does an excellent job of picking up everything from dog hair tangles to tiny pieces of cut paper scattered from a recent craft project.

When the Matrix is done cleaning the Matrix will return to its dock and empty itself into the included bin. This is a great feature as it eliminates the need to perform maintenance.

The robot's LIDAR mapping sensor is located right on top. This could prevent it from being able to get under low-lying furniture like tables and sofas. However, if you don't mind it being slightly higher than other models it's still an excellent choice. Be aware that this model isn't equipped with an HEPA filter like the other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precise grid that leaves no spot missed and incredible suction draws dirt and debris into a self-emptying, 60-day capacity bagless base. Precision home mapping that combines 360deg. LiDAR vision with a precise homemap in the SharkClean App to allow fully autonomous movements and intelligent object avoidance. Day or night it creates a precise map of your home to enable full navigation without bumping into furniture or other obstacles. This means that your robot can be left to complete a schedule of cleaning or you can start Matrix clean on demand and set room-specific goals anywhere within the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a top mid-range robot cleaner that checks all of the boxes. It's simple to use, generates precise home maps, and has an automatic bag emptying system. It's also cheaper to operate than many other robot vacuums.

It is a plethora of power. It makes use of its side brushes to move hair and carpet fibers into the brushroll. This prevents the accumulation and blockage of the brushroll as seen on other robotic vacuums and makes this one more effective at picking up pet hair.

In addition to its suction power and self-emptying base, this robot comes with Matrix Clean Navigation for a thorough cleaning process, Precision Home Mapping for object avoidance, a high-efficiency HEPA filter that traps 99% of odors, dust mites and allergens and two power modes for different floor types and the remote control that gives the user full access to all of its functions. Additionally, it is compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to allow you to start cleaning tasks without having to touch the robot.

While it's a great option for the majority of homes, some may have issues with its navigation abilities. This bump bot had trouble with stairs. Other bump bots are able to avoid them, but this one couldn't. It relied on LiDAR and infrared sensors to map the house however, it was constantly mistaking my cat's house for stairs and asked me to move it out of the way. It also had a shorter time to run than advertised, which was only 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

A few robots, including this one - feature self-emptying bases that can vacuum or dump the debris in the onboard dustbin into an external dirt bin for easier maintenance. These are known as Clean Base Dirt Disposal (iRobot), Auto Empty Station (Ecovacs) or Bagless Self-Emptying Base (Shark). They are a practical alternative, but they can also be noisy and messy. They usually require special disposal bags.

This Shark model comes with a HEPA-filtered bagless self-recharging vacuum base, and has an impressively large capacity. It can store debris for up to 60 days and does not need to be emptied daily like some other models. There's also a hefty dose of amazing Shark suction to take on the biggest mess. The only drawback is that the docking station's vacuum system that is used to empty the onboard dust bin is surprisingly loud.

When the robot is connected to an outlet in the wall and is charging the battery, a beep is heard and robotvacuummops.Com a green light will pulse on its top to indicate it's time to start cleaning. If the battery of the robot is at a low level, it will dock to its base until it's recharged. It's important that the dock or Self-Empty Base is placed in a place that isn't obstructed by furniture or other objects and is free of obstructions in the vicinity of it.

While this model is a little pricier than the other mid-range robotic mop models we've tested, it feels well-built and has better performance on bare floors as well as a longer battery life, less demanding maintenance requirements, and a broader variety of automation features that include virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however remains our top option because it is more robust and more refined, is faster in charging and gets caught on rug tassels less often and has a greater capacity battery.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes only few inputs. You can choose the date and time of sunrise and sunset. You can also choose the duration of the ramp times (increasing brightness or decreasing) and whether you want to switch on the lights at night.

It doesn't have smart mapping or voice control like Alexa and Google Assistant but it has a very useful free programming suite. This suite has various Windows-based tools to allow for the setting of operating parameters and communication settings, dmXLAN node and switch configuration, real-time testing and rapid replication of the configuration to multiple installations.

Even the most novice users will not have any trouble getting around the interface. The top tabs correspond to the screens that will be displayed by the installer. There are also tabs that allow you to experiment with various colors and messages. It's a robust tool that allows you to quickly create a quick installation. The application is only 1.3MB in size and can be used with Windows 7 to Windows 95.
