1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an extremely well-built robot that has a large dirt storage compartment that automatically emptys into the docking station once full. It will then begin cleaning after it's recharged. It comes with a large dirt compartment on the outside that it automatically emptys when it is full to the docking stations, and then resumes cleaning after it is recharged. It's efficient in removing small and medium debris from bare floors but it isn't as effective in removing pet hair and incurs high regular costs.

This model, similar to the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to learn and remember your home. It also has an option that automatically adjusts its head's height and suction power depending on the floor type it's working on.

During our testing it performed admirably on both hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. It picked the majority of the smaller, harder debris that we dropped on each surface, while also dealing with the larger crumbs of cereal we placed on the carpet. It's a little less adept in cleaning pet hair than a few of the best models we've tested however, and it might be stuck on toys or cords if you don't pick them up prior to sending the robot to clean.

In our tests In our tests, the i3+ EVO was clean for around 90 minutes before its battery ran low and it was able to return to its original state. This is better than the i7+ or s9+ that was only able to run for 60 minutes in our tests. In contrast to other robot vacuums, the Q5 Pro does not require Wi-Fi to operate. Its battery is not very long-lasting, so you'll need to recharge it often if you intend to use the robot for long periods of time. It is relatively easy to maintain and comes with a dirt bag that can be easily replaced and a simple maintenance schedule. It's also cheaper than its more expensive competitors.

The Q5 Pro can be a little finicky when it is dealing with pet hair as well as bulkier debris, though it's a great product overall. In our tests, it cleared more debris on bare floors and carpets that are low-pile than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, though it struggled to get into the tight corners and receding areas of carpet with high pile. It's also more mobile and its filtration system does an excellent job of trapping allergens. The straight suction floorhead of the vacuum is low for medium or bulky debris. There are other minor issues like the absence of sophisticated features and a limited remote control capabilities. Despite these limitations however, the Eureka Q5 Pro is a good choice to those seeking an affordable robot vacuum with mopping capability.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 Plus is a great option for those who want a powerful vacuum that can also mop. This small robot's compact design lets it reach places that larger robots cannot, such as corners and under furniture. It also features an advanced LiDAR sensor that can recognize obstacles and avoid collisions.

During our tests, the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair as well as crumbs and other debris quickly and efficiently from our carpet. It also was able to get into tight spaces like under our beds or around chair legs. It can mop with a separate cloth, or use a wet cloth. There's a small set of wet wipes that comes with the K10 Plus to get you started.

The app for the K10 Plus is intuitive and straightforward to use. It offers several customization options like setting a no disruption time, altering the layout of the map and setting a timer to determine when you'd like it to clean. The app also tracks the usage of different tools like the side brush, filter, bin filter, and sensors. This lets you determine when it is time you should replace them.

The battery life of the K10 Plus is also pretty good. We were able to get approximately three hours of cleaning of it with a full charge. It also charges fairly quickly. It releases dirt into a large bin in the base station after it's finished. This can be a bit deafening when it happens, but at least it's not as loud as some of the other self emptying robot vacuums we've tested.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the premium S Series of the manufacturer that is above models like the iRobot Roomba J7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It performs very well on different flooring types and can be maneuvered easily around furniture. Its main brushroll is equipped with counter-rotating scrapers made of rubber, which efficiently remove the majority of pet hair and debris from carpets and bare floors. The suction power it produces is strong for a robot HONITURE 3-in-1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner - 4000pa Ultra-Slim but doesn't quite match the suction power of high-end models like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is distinctly elegant and features a D-shaped body that appears more modern than its circular counterparts. This unique shape also helps it reach corners and along edges more easily. While it could leave dust in these areas if the corner brush isn't turning fast enough, its powerful motor more than makes up for this.

In iRobot's tests, the S9+ was able to remove kitty litter and pet hair with ease. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, where its powerful motor was able to power through most types and edges and corners effortlessly. Its advanced vSLAM technology as well as Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of the top navigators we have. It can find its way through sofas or beds with draped valances over them.

Setting up and operation is easy using the iRobot app. You can choose the functions you want to enable when you set up the robot, or wait until after you've gotten a feel for it. Its internal bin needs to be empty manually every now and then when it is full, though the process takes less than 15 seconds and is relatively quiet.

5. Roborock S8

This latest iteration of the Roborock S series is an impressive robot vacuum and mop combo with a robust feature set. Like its predecessors, it utilizes an LIDAR sensor and camera system for navigation and obstacle avoidance. The mapping system creates a 3D map of your home, which you can view on the app. It allows you to set no-go zones or designate certain rooms to be cleaned. The app can also let you control the schedule of your robot and set different suction and mopping settings for each room.

The S8 also boasts upgraded HyperForce suction that can suck hair and other fine particles easily. The app allows you to alter the power of suction, and the device can automatically switch between energy-efficient 'Quiet, Balanced', and 'Turbo' modes based on the surface it's cleaning. It also has an Carpet Suction Boost mode that increases suction while the robot is positioned on rugs.

The S8 can be controlled with one button that functions as a cleaning button for the entire robot, or a Spot Clean button to direct it to a particular area. You can also press the 'Dock/Home' button to return the robot to its base station. The app is simple to use and has a surprising number of features. You can even select when you charge your phone off-peak to save money on peak-time electricity.

The only issue with the S8 is that the battery doesn't last as long as I would like. It lasted only 130 minutes when I was using it on normal settings that had both vacuuming and mopping turned on. This is still a long time and was enough to clean my apartment.
