iRobot Series Robot Vacuum Cleaners

iRobot Braava Jet M6 - Advanced Smart Mapping Robot Mop, a robotics firm that has been a pioneer for years in the field, is now focusing on smart home automation. Their robot vacuum cleaners feature pinpoint navigation and dirt detectors.

The story in the frame story concerns a woman named Gloria and her robot nursemaid, Robbie. She is devastated when her parents take Robbie back to the factory.

Roomba

Roomba is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner. It is designed to clean carpets and unfinished floors. It maneuvers over furniture and obstacles to thoroughly vacuum the floor. It automatically returns to the dock and charges and can be controlled via an app for smartphones or a remote control.

The majority of Roomba models are able to detect obstacles using infrared sensors and can change direction when they encounter obstacles. More advanced versions can create an outline of the floor's surface and then determine the best route to follow. This allows them to clean larger areas in less time than previous models, and improves efficiency. Some Roombas are equipped with a squeegee that can be used to sweep up large pieces of debris such as pebbles or crumbs. Some Roombas have a large capacity bin that can hold more dirt prior to needing to be emptied.

The iRobot Home app lets you schedule cleaning times, decide when the robot should return to its dock, and also control other functions, such as changing the number of passes. The app will also give you a complete history of every cleaning task, including how long the robot took to finish the task and whether it ran into an obstacle or cancelled its job. The iRobot Home app is linked to other iRobot devices, for instance the Braava m6, so it will automatically begin mopping when the Roomba has completed vacuuming.

In late May 2019, iRobot Roomba j7+: Self-Emptying Vacuum And Mop for Effortless Cleaning introduced the S series of Roombas that are equipped with advanced obstacle detection and smart mapping technology that helps them find the best path through the home. The S9 and S9+ are the most intelligent Roombas iRobot has made to date, with 40 times more suction than the 600 series and 30% larger rubber brushes for better edge cleaning. They also have the ability to create "Keep out zones" that block the robot from entering certain areas, like cords that are thicker.

The j9+ is the top-of-the-line model, and it comes with everything that the brand has to provide. It comes with a self-emptying Clean Base, advanced obstacle detection, and automatic updates of iRobot OS. It also can learn your cleaning habits and adjust the power on its brush motors. It can even pick up dirt that is more deeply encased hairs, pet hairs, and allergens.

Scooba

The Irobot Scooba was designed to clean your floors without causing any mess. It uses an active reservoir design to separate cleaning solution from dirty sand. It uses a three step cleaning process to eliminate dirt and bacteria. It can clean 150 square feet in one cleaning.

The Scooba has a very easy operation. The top of the Scooba features three buttons that are backlit and clearly labeled labels. The largest button, Clean starts and stops the cleaning cycle. The Information button to the left will flash various colors to indicate the status, and the third button is a button that will initiate a specific task. There's also a small on/off switch, as well as an electrical cord port.

It comes with a replacement battery. It takes around two hours to charge, however it's a great option for those who need fast clean-ups. The Scooba also comes with an adjustable bottom plate to make it easier to clean the bristles as well as the vacuum holes. The battery slot is press-fit, and slightly recessed, but there is an o-ring in place to stop water from getting into the battery compartment.

It did an excellent job cleaning the rest of our home but it was quick at doing it. It cleaned the bathroom extremely efficiently and we didn't have to worry about the smell that lingers. The Scooba can be quite loud and isn't the ideal choice for bedrooms or a living room.

I did notice some gunk stuck in the vacuum holes at the bottom of the Scooba. This is easily removed by rinsing off. This is important because obstructions in the vacuum can cause the bot to stop working.

Braava

The iRobot Braava jet m6 appears simple, yet it has lots of clever engineering in it to make mopping and navigation work well. The compact body, which measures 10 x 10,6 x 3,5 inches, and weighs only 4.4 pounds, lets it move through tight spaces without damaging furniture. The robot's head is designed to scrub floors and its nozzle sprays a moist mop. It also vibrates to release dirt and stains.

The robot utilizes modern vSLAM navigation to map your home, avoiding carpets and other obstacles. Its driving wheels allow it to maneuver around tight corners and cliff sensors keep it from falling down steep cliffs or steps. It also learns about your habits of cleaning and suggests extra mopping during pollen or allergy season.

Using the iRobot HOME app it is possible to create a schedule and choose rooms to clean. You can also create Keep Out Zones, which will block off areas you don't want the robot to go into. You can also control the robot via voice commands because it is compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa devices (sold separately).

The m6 can automatically return to its base station after cleaning and recharging itself. The status of the robot is displayed by the light ring at the top.
